What's a nineties-influenced track without a CD2 with some brilliant remix takes on the original track? This Bandcamp first edition of Never Tell Me The Odds by The West View features remixes by Sorry The Hedgehog and Montage Collective, two dramatically different versions that bring something totally new to the track.

Never Tell Me The Odds is The West View’s 5th release, and the first featuring a full band recording. Recorded, produced and mastered at Northacre Studios in Cambridgeshire, the release is sonically inspired by nineties anthems like The Life of Riley by the Lightning Seeds and Dreams by The Cranberries. It is lyrically dedicated to the life of friend and bassist Aaron Swain who passed in 2021.

True to vocalist and songwriter Jake’s crossover experience with electronic music, the release will be accompanied with remixes from Berlin’s E.no and Melbourne’s Montage Collective, and two new B-sides - original track In The Maytime and a cover of Robyn’s With Every Heartbeat.

The West View is singer, songwriter and producer Jake Griffiths. Growing up in the wide open spaces of Norfolk and now living in Hertfordshire, in the orbit of London England, Jake is a former DJ with gigs at iconic London venues playing alongside some of electronic music's biggest names. His recent vocal and guitar collaborations include working with Herts-based indie songwriters St Clair and TOMIK, and the Switzerland-based synthwave producer Mike Templar. He is the producer and presenter of Electrodrome, broadcast weekly on the UK and US indie radio station Radio Wigwam.
